Meet Our Team
Deborah is all about family and she has been a part of the DIA family for over 12 years. She is originally from the beautiful island of St. Thomas but Tampa has been her home for the past 13 years. Deborah reads whenever possible. However, Deborah fills most of her free time cooking for her children, grandchildren, friends, and family. Deborah is happiest when she is surrounded by her loved ones.
Yomika began her career at DIA in May 2008 as a customer service representative. Now she is our outstanding Office Manager. When the Tampa native isn’t doing one of her many jobs at DIA, she loves quality time with her husband, cooking, and reading. She has 3 children, 4 adorable grandchildren, and an obsession with elephants.
Jan left the large corporate insurance business for our smaller, family-oriented agency. She began her adventure with us in October 2010. Jan has flourished at DIA and become one of our top sales agents. She is always quick to assist clients and lend a hand to her co-workers. New employees often look to Jan for guidance and advice as they acclimate to our agency.
Suzanne celebrated her 1st year of employment with DIA in June 2017. She lived 2 years overseas as a young girl but has lived most of her life in the Tampa Bay area. Suzanne has a daughter, a sweet granddaughter, and 2 rescued dogs. On the weekends Suzanne’s activities include time with her granddaughter, baking, and catching up on Real Crime TV Dramas. Suzanne also has an Associates Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.
CFO/Human Resource Generalist
Melanie works behind the scenes as the Chief Financial Officer and Human Resource Generalist utilizing her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Administration. Melanie began her roles in October 2001 after Thomas purchased the agency. When she is not at the office, Melanie is trying to manage and survive the hectic schedules of her 4 children. Surrounded by family, friends, and good food is Melanie’s idea of a perfect day. However, occasionally she will sneak off to a quiet place to read or take a drive.
Thomas is the Principal Agent and Owner of Dennis Insurance Agency, Inc. Thomas began working at DIA in the summer of 1996. He took ownership of the agency 5 years later. The agency has thrived under Thomas’ management, direction, and forethought. Although the work to operate a business can sometimes be overwhelming, family is still an essential part of Thomas’ life. Thomas and Melanie have been married for almost 19 years. Together they have 4 children ranging in age from 17 to 8. Life as a business owner, husband, father, brother, son, and friend may always be hectic, but with the support of a loving family, dedicated staff, caring neighbors and patrons. Dennis Insurance Agency will continue to provide personal attention to each and every client.
Travis is a seasoned employee of DIA. Travis joined our crew in 2007. He started at our agency as an insurance novice. In the past 10 years, Travis has supported DIA in many areas including sales, technology, customer service, and training. Travis understands the value of good customer service. He also enjoys discovering innovations and other ways to improve and support growth at DIA.
